Forage rape is widely planted for deer and produces leafy forage that is highly palatable.

This brassica is high in protein and one of the easiest crops to grow. It is fairly tolerant of acidic soils, doing well from a pH of 5.5 and up.

Forage rape performs best in well-drained soils and does not tolerate standing water or overly wet areas.
