TiaGard 12.5% Qt

TiaGard 12.5% Liquid Concentrate (tiamulin hydrogen fumarate) is a fast-acting, cost-effective antibiotic widely used to treat and control enteric and respiratory diseases in swine and poultry. It is typically sold in a 1-liter (approx. 1.057 quarts) bottle.

• Primary Application: Used in medicated drinking water for swine to treat dysentery and bacterial pneumonia.
• Poultry Use: Veterinarians and keepers often use it off-label to manage mycoplasma and respiratory infections in chickens and ducks.
• Generic Alternative: It provides the same active ingredient as the pioneer brand DenaGard at a fraction of the cost.

• Swine Dosage: Administer in the drinking water for 5 consecutive days. Dose at 3.5 mg per pound of body weight (for dysentery) or 10.5 mg per pound (for pneumonia).
• Poultry Dosage (Off-Label): Often administered at about 15 ml (cc) per gallon of drinking water for 5 days. Because the medication is very bitter, it is recommended to add a sweetener like apple juice to the water so the animals will drink it.

• Slaughter Withdrawal: When treating swine, medicated water must be withdrawn 3 to 7 days prior to slaughter, depending on the dosage level used.
• Ionophore Warning: Swine being treated with TiaGard must never have access to feeds containing polyether ionophores (such as monensin, lasalocid, or salinomycin) as fatal adverse reactions can occur.
